Rex Partlow and his wife are happily retired and traveling around the country today.
Their travel totals more than 20,000 miles around the lower 48 states.
Nights in an RV and days on the road are much more enjoyable now that he gets restful sleep with Inspire® therapy.
The time before he found relief had many challenges. Rex’s initial diagnosis for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) came in 2008.

He first received a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine to treat it. The first mask didn’t work. Neither did the second, third or fourth masks.
“I ended up with one that went around my head,” Rex said. “It worked better than the others, but I still fought with it every night and eventually stopped wearing it.”

He woke up every morning with a headache because of his poor sleep. Rex took naps during the day and lacked energy to work out. He also snored all the time.
He later heard a radio ad for Inspire therapy while working in his garage. Rex immediately went into the house and started researching the treatment. He consulted with an Inspire-trained provider to get a plan.
He first had nasal surgery to remove a blockage. He later qualified and received the Inspire® implant in October 2020.

He felt a difference the first night after his provider turned the device on.
“I slept eight hours,” Rex said. “My wife woke up because she didn’t hear me snoring.”
Rex wakes up full of energy now. He and his wife remain active by taking bike rides and playing golf. He doesn’t wake up with headaches and barely snores anymore.

Rex also dreams every night again.
He now hopes to help others with related stories and finds time to share his experiences.
“I see people all over the country with the CPAP bags,” Rex said. “The laundromat, RV parks, really anywhere we stop, I’ll tell them my story and how much better I’m sleeping now.”
