It's never too late to find ZZZs
Reality star Chock Chapple credits Inspire® therapy for changing his life and helping him find love.
Chock Chapple – father, business owner, insurance executive and reality TV star – thought he tried everything to manage his obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
He began losing hope after years of struggling with Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) masks. They never fit his face correctly which led to restless nights and constant fatigue.
“I tested five or six different masks, and none of them worked,” Chock said. “I just couldn’t do it anymore.”
That’s when a billboard in Kansas caught his eye. It was for Inspire® therapy, the first FDA-approved treatment for moderate to severe OSA that works inside your body without the need for a mask or hose.
Curious, Chock researched it online and decided to talk to his provider.
A Short Procedure, a Big Change
Chock qualified and had the Inspire® implant procedure in April 2021.
Once his provider turned his therapy on, the results were immediate and life changing. He slept through the night for the first time in years and even started dreaming again.
“I had this dream that I was flying with my arms like an airplane. That’s when I knew I was finally hitting REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep,” Chock said.
Better Health and Increased Energy
A good night’s sleep gave Chock the quality of life he wanted. Over time, he lost more than 40 pounds.
“I didn’t lose the weight from dieting — it was because I finally had the energy to move, work out and eat better,” he said.

Chock also tracks his sleep with a ring monitor and notices the difference every night.
“With Inspire, my oxygen levels stay steady, my heart rate drops to a healthy level, and I wake up refreshed,” he said. “I don’t snore anymore. I feel like a whole different person.”
Chock began sharing his success story with his friends prior to becoming a spokesperson in Inspire’s commercials and social media.
He said he gave a referral to around 15 or 20 people at his gym. Two of them use Inspire therapy themselves now.
Finding Love
Restored health and energy gave Chock the confidence to seek love and date again. After his procedure and receiving the Inspire implant, he found and met his fianceè Joan Vassos.
“Before Inspire therapy, I never would’ve had the stamina or self-assurance to put myself out there,” he said. “Because I was finally sleeping well, I could focus on what really mattered — listening, sharing and building a relationship.”
Today, he and Joan travel the world together, enjoying big and small adventures.
It is easier for him to travel without a need to bring bulky equipment on trips. His Inspire™ remote easily fits in his backpack or pocket.
“That simplicity lets me focus on what matters: living life and enjoying time with her,” he said.
Advice for Others
Chock knows there are people who feel stuck with sleep apnea, but he said it is never too late for those who struggle to use CPAP to explore alternative options like Inspire therapy.
Most of all, he believes in the power of good sleep.
“Talk to your doctor and see if it’s the right fit — I’m so glad that I did,” Chock said. “Six to eight hours of real rest makes you healthier, happier and more active.
“Inspire therapy changed my life, and it even helped me find the love of my life.”
