“It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”
Becky Buddenbohm’s life took a positive turn after she began using Inspire® therapy.
She loves to travel all over the world. But her obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) put a dent in those plans.
Becky first received her OSA diagnosis after visiting a neurologist for her migraines. It led to a sleep study.

The study confirmed she stopped breathing 59 times per hour while sleeping.
She tried to use a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine for a few years. She said she “hated every second of it.”
Becky struggled to carry her machine on trips. She also found it difficult to buy distilled water in other countries.
“I toss and turn a lot at night,” she said. “It would wake me up because the mask would fall off, and I’d have to adjust the hose every time I moved.”

Becky searched for alternatives for years but didn’t find anything that fit her needs.
Then she overheard a conversation between two coworkers about Inspire therapy that changed her life.
“My ears perked up,” she said. “I asked some questions and got online immediately to research it.”
Becky made an appointment with a doctor in her town and eventually completed the steps to qualify.

She received the Inspire® implant in August 2022. And she later learned her sleep apnea episodes dropped to two per hour during a follow-up sleep study.
More rest means she no longer falls asleep at her desk or in front of the TV.
Travel is also easier without the CPAP machine.
She no longer needs to find distilled water. And Becky can sleep on planes and doesn’t struggle with jet lag as much.
