While it took a few months to get used to it, now it's a very normal and routine part of sleeping. It's really freeing, because I don't need to be attached to a hose and near an electric outlet in order to sleep.
I was diagnosed with severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea in 2015. I tried CPAP and then BiPAP for years, including having a septoplasty and trying an oral appliance, but the side effect of aerophagia was too much. My inspire implant was in May of 2020, and I can finally have restful sleep without the side effects of CPAP/BiPAP.
Philosophy
I had tried everything else I could think of, and I was dangerously tired, so I decided to give it a shot. It worked!
I would like for people who have sleep apnea but who find CPAP/BiPAP don't work for them to not to give up on treating their sleep apnea. I would like to inform them about Inspire as an alternative. While it's more mainstream now, when I first got it in 2020 it was not very common, so I'd like to share my own experiences.
