Life changing and very easy to use. Insurance was not an issue. Life with inspire is so easy now that I have energy to do things without needing to take a nap in the middle of the day and still wake up tired.

My name is Ernest Rodarte. I live in the State of New Mexico, The Land of Enchantment. In January of 2021 I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea at 245lbs with a 36.75 BMI. My life was in a big mess.

On that very same night I saw an Inspire commercial. The very next day I set an appointment with my sleep doctor and my health insurance company, in which both mentioned to me that I do not qualify due to my BMI. It needed to be at 32. Since I do have a background in personal training, I turned the tables on myself, totally closed off the outside world, and spent all of 2022 in high speed aquatics, lap swimming and weight resistance training. It took me exactly 365 days to lose 71lbs to bring my BMI down to 32, so that I may qualify for the Inspire implant.

In January of 2023 I had nasal deviation correction surgery in which reversed most if not all of my asthma symptoms and condition, A BIG LIFE CHANGING EVENT. In February of 2023 Inspire was installed. Then in April of 2023 my Inspire implant was activated and I was on my journey to a restful peaceful good night sleep. Inspire inspired me to lose weight (pun intended). Before Inspire my bed went through World War 3, 4, 5, 6 and the beginning of World War 7.

After Inspire and fine tuning my bed looks like no one hardly slept in it, and it only takes me 15 seconds to "fix" my bed. I get to turn on the Inspire at night and wake up in the morning and turn off the Inspire. I can remember vivid dreams so real that all my past loved ones come to life, something that is so special to me that I cherish every moment of my life. If I had to do this all over, I would.

Interests:

High speed aquatics, lap swimming, weight training, off grid camping or in a cabin off grid, fishing, and mostly anything outdoors.

Why I chose Inspire therapy to treat my sleep apnea:

Since I absolutely love off grid camping in the backwoods or in a cabin. Where am I going to plug in a CPAP machine? Where am I going to pack the CPAP machine in my backpack? Where am I going to carry the water needed for the CPAP machine? How am I going to clean the hoses off grid on long trips? Inspire gave me back what CPAP took away, and that is off grid backwoods camping or in a cabin off grid.

Why am I a patient ambassador?

I would love to help others by sharing my positive experiences with Inspire and be available to answer questions or concerns about Inspire therapy.
