Got Inspire on June 1, 2020

Hi, my name is Linda Cole and I live in Zeeland MI. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in June of 2018. I tried cpap and many issues with using it. I couldn’t get comfortable with it, I had severe dryness in my mouth and eyes, I would get air in my stomach, etc. I used it even though I hated it because I knew it was better for my health. At my next appointment with my sleep doctor, she was happy with my usage, but I told her that I hated every minute of it. We discussed other options and, due to my insurance, I went in for a consult for an oral appliance and was found not to be a candidate. I was actually more interested in Inspire, so that was my next step. Deciding to go with Inspire was actually very easy for me! My Inspire was implanted on June 1, 2020 and it’s been the best decision!

Interests: I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I play trombone in a quintet and a community band, which is a lot of fun. I spend quite a bit of time sewing and in warmer weather, camping with my husband and family.

Why I chose Inspire therapy to treat my sleep apnea: Choosing Inspire was an easy decision. I could not see myself continuing to use cpap for the rest of my life. I couldn’t sleep all night with cpap and never felt rested in the morning. Now with Inspire, I typically sleep 6-8 hours every night and feel like a different person! I have more energy and I feel like I can think more clearly. It’s also been much better for my husband. He doesn’t have the cpap air blowing on him and we can snuggle again! When I travel, it’s so much more convenient to only carry a small remote instead of a bulky cpap. Inspire definitely works! My apnea events went from 30 to 0!

In a few short words, I would describe Inspire therapy as: Life changing! It has improved my quality of life tremendously!

Why am I a patient ambassador? I love sharing my story! If someone talks to me, I can answer their questions from my perspective and share my experience. It has changed my life for the better!
