# Inspire Sleep (Inspire Medical Systems)

> Inspire® therapy is an FDA-approved, mask-free obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) treatment. It is an implantable upper-airway stimulation system indicated for adults with moderate-to-severe OSA who have tried and cannot tolerate or benefit from CPAP, and for pediatric patients aged 13 and older who have Down syndrome. Instead of a mask and hose, a small implant delivers gentle stimulation that keeps the airway open during sleep, controlled by a handheld remote and companion app. This file lists the most important pages, prioritized by real search performance.

## Key facts and indication

- Inspire is indicated for adults with moderate-to-severe OSA who are unable to tolerate or benefit from CPAP.
- Pediatric indication is limited to patients aged 13 and older who have Down syndrome.
- Inspire is not indicated for central sleep apnea, mixed sleep apnea (when central/mixed events make up 25% or more of the total AHI), or for patients who are not CPAP-intolerant.
- Inspire has been clinically studied in patients with a BMI up to 40. Insurance coverage often has its own BMI requirements.
