Coverage for Inspire Therapy
If you are a Veteran, you are eligible for care at a Veterans Affairs Medical Center. If you are an active duty member, family of an active duty member enrolled in TRICARE, a retiree, family member of a retiree who is enrolled in TRICARE, or an otherwise eligible person, you may also have the opportunity to access Inspire therapy through a Military Treatment Facility. TRICARE utilizes military health care resources and supplements them with networks of civilian health care providers. If you are a TRICARE member, Inspire therapy will be reviewed and approved on a case by case basis. Your Inspire physician will first confirm you meet the candidacy requirements, then we will work on your behalf for insurance coverage.

Veteran’s Choice Program
If there is not a center near you, you can utilize a program called the Veteran’s Choice Program. The Veteran’s Choice Program allows you to receive health care within your community. Using this program does not impact your existing VA health care or any other VA benefit.
You are eligible for the Program if you:
- live more than 40 miles away from a VA medical care facility or face one of several excessive travel burdens; or
- have been waiting more than 30 days for VA medical care
If you experience an issue getting to this treatment and you live more 40 miles from a VA medical facility or have travel burdens, call 1-866-606-8198 to discuss your eligibility for the Veteran’s Choice Program. The representative will ask you for the name of your preferred community physician. Unfortunately, not all physicians will be eligible to participate in the Veteran’s Choice Program, so if your preferred physician is not available, the representative will recommend other physicians in your area.
If you have been waiting more than 30 days for care, call 1-866-606-8198 and staff there will connect you with a VA partner to help set up an appointment.
For more information on the Veteran’s Choice Program, please visit https://www.va.gov/opa/choiceact/.

Dan M, 53
I was born in Lakewood, Ohio which is a suburb of Cleveland. I retired from the United States Navy in 2010 with 23 years as a Chief Petty Officer. I am currently working at the Great Lakes Naval Station in North Chicago, IL. I live in Pleasant Prairie, WI with my wife Barbara. We have been married for 23 years and have two children and one grandchild.
Dan G, 38
I spent 5 years in the Army as an infantryman. I now live in Milwaukee, WI and have been married for 13 years. My wife and I have two children, a 9 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. I currently work as an IT Project Manager for a company in Milwaukee, WI.
Gerry H, 52
I am a divorced father with 2 young children with 8 years of service in the Marine Corps Reserves stationed in Ohio. My stepdaughter has also blessed me with 3 grandchildren. I live in a small town outside of Columbus, OH but I drive all over the United States as an over-the-road truck driver. I am usually gone during the week and home on the weekends. I like to travel, although most of my traveling involves a trailer load of product making it to a destination on time. My family and friends are very important to me and I have found that family goes beyond "bloodlines" sometimes.
Donnie R, 74
I served on active duty with the United States Air Force for 20 years and an additional 16 years employed with the Air Force Reserves. During this time, I was stationed in Southeast Asia--1 year in Vietnam and 5 years in The Philippines. I now live in Tampa, FL with my wife.
